There are three valleys surrounding the temple namely, Manikoot, Brahmakoot and Vishnukoot. The story behind the temple is so legendary; During the time of SamudraManthan (Churning of Ocean), Devas &Asuras starts churning the ocean to obtain nectar but instead, poison originated from the sea and becomes a matter of havoc for the entire planet of earth. In order to save people and the entire earth, Lord Mahadev consumed the poison that turned his throat blue. From then, he is also known as NEELKANTH.

Triveni Ghat

A perfect place to relax forgetting every problem and pain; TriveniGhat is a sacred bathing ghat in the main city of Rishikesh. Three major rivers of India, Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati used to flow and meet at the point, where now TriveniGhat is located. Among all that rivers, Saraswati is now somewhere vanished. The ghat is mainly famous for the soothing evening Ganga Aarti that has been performed under "Ganga Sabha". The aarti is a daily popular event including rituals like offering flowers, prayers, the lighting of Diya, bhajans, aarti and so on. Neergaddu Waterfall

The waterfall is situated at just a distance of 9 km from the heart of Rishikesh. Neergaddu Waterfall is divided by two bathing pools, the 200 m trek from the road will take you the first pool, small in size and the further 1.2 km trek will take you to the main waterfall with large pool, where you will definitely enjoy and creates a lot of memories.

Vashishta Gufa

Away from the crowd and horde of the city, VashishtaGufa or Cave is located on a completely serene destination. The cave is located on the banks of the Ganges, covered by the amazing view of the Himalayas in an archaic location. The cave is 17km from Tapovan and 6 km from Shivpuri. As per the Hindu Mythology, it is the same place where once Sage Vashsihsta with his wife, Arundhati visit for a deep penance in order to overcome from the sorrow of their children's death. The Ashram is surrounded by the Gular Village and the tress of Gular. The view one can witness from the place is really awestruck and makes your mind peaceful.

Kunjapuri Temple

Stand high at an altitude of 1700 meters; Kunjapuri Temple in Rishikesh is among the Siddhi Peeths of India. As per the spiritual belief, the chest of burned Devi Sati was fallen on the same where the temple is established. The temple is also a famous trek where lots of visitors come to witness the mesmerizing view of Sunrise. The view was so stunning that will surely make you fall in love with its beauty. Parmarth Niketan

Founded by Swami Shukdevanand Ji Maharaj; Parmarth Niketan was founded in the year 1942. The ashram is located on the banks of the River Ganga witnessing the eternal beauty of Garhwal Himalayas and the Ganges. The evening Ganga Aarti at the Ashram is so famous and soothing. It is performed facing the Ganga and the splendid statue of Lord Shiva. Many devotees join the Ganga Aarti and performed it with true heart and soul. At the entry gate of the ashram, there is a majestic statue of Hanuman depicting the presence of Rama in his heart. The charm of the place is must to visit. Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh is among the oldest ashrams in the city.

Bharat Mandir

In the heart of the city of Rishikesh, the ancient shrine of the Lord Bharat is located namely “Bharat Mandir”. The temple was originally established in 789 A.D. by JagadguruAdiShankaracharya on the sacred day of BasantPanchami. To honor this celebration, every year, the statue of Shaligram from the temple was taken throughout the city with a great procession. One can also get to know about the Bharat Mandir in the sacred Hindu Books, Vishnu Puran, VamanPuran, Shrimadbhagwat, Mahabharat and NarshinghPuran. Taking 108 pheris (rounds) of the temple on the day of AkshayaTritiyaaknown to be sacred as it gives saintly as of the pilgrimage to Badrinath Temple (one of the Dham of Chota Char Dham in Uttarakhand).
